This is my favorite wool blanket. It is thick, soft, and warm. The blanket has covered our bed in the wintertime for over a decade. Early on, one of our rescue puppies, took refuge in its midst and decided to nibble a hole in one of its corners. A hole that until now has been left untouched as a reminder of a dear dog, but also as an eyesore of sorts.
Recently I rediscovered a remnant, originally part of a vintage wool blanket, given to me by my friend Kelly. It has since been eco dyed in earthy hues of soft yellow, greens, and tans. Now the beloved blanket is mended with this wool piece, creating a jewel like adornment in its own right. The most wondrous part of the process was the mindful stitching, done while reflecting on friendship, beauty, and puppy love.
