You may remember that I wrote about Sonya Philip, and her project 100 Acts of Sewing in this post last year. Since then Sonya and I have been in touch and somewhere along the way we decided to do a collaboration of sorts. I sent some of my dyed and eco printed fabric for her to use in one of her creations. The resulting dress became number 100, wrapping up the second year of her project.
Last week the dress arrived in the mail, and I am so thrilled! The eco printed details are perfect (I especially love the yoke in the back), and the quality of the sewing is exquisite. I am honored to indirectly have been part of this worthwhile project, which promotes home sewing and creativity, in lieu of mass consumption. I will wear this dress with pride, and each time I will be reminded of Sonya, her beautiful work and resolve. If you would like to make a similar dress, you can find the pattern (dress no 2) in her online shop.
