I am working on a few new pieces for submission to some big upcoming events. They are still mostly in the conceptual stage and knowing my tendency to procrastinate, they may not come to fruition. But I have always been good at dreaming big, so for now I am forging ahead planning, testing, and acquiring materials. Still thinking this may be the year... I can't show many images of the work itself, but here are some details relating to the theme.
While nursing these lofty ideas, I am continuing a collection of smaller pieces involving lots of stitching, color shifts, and shapes. I am rather loving this new work. Not only because it is manageable in scale, but because I feel it is opening up a new direction. Taking me further away from perfection and literal interpretations.
So I am fitting in a lot of studio time during this sweltering summer month. Still loving my new place, which is not that new any more I am realizing. If you want to find out more about my studio, and the way I organize my work, hop over to HK Power Studio blog for a recent interview. Thank you Heather for inviting me to participate and for all the cleaver, useful, and beautiful organizing tips you share on your blog.
